Weddings at St. Peter’s & The Rite of Christian Marriage:

St. Peter’s is a beautiful church to adorn your special day. We are a beautiful, historic building with a heart for compassion and a mind to be inclusive. Whoever you are, from near and far away, consider St. Peter’s as a place where you can take this important spiritual step in your life with integrity and with joy.

This is a special moment in your life and it deserves to be dealt with carefully, competently and joyfully. There are certain procedures and expectations that the church requires and it is appropriate to be clear about them at the outset.
These include:

  • Theology
  • Premarital Counseling
  • Remarriages
  • Notice of Marriage
  • License
  • Rehearsals
  • Church Fees
  • Flowers and Candles
  • Photography and Videos

A word about church membership:

There is always a standing invitation for you to consider membership in the church. Come visit anytime, we are a house of prayer for ALL people. While the church does not require active membership in order to be married at St. Peter’s in the case of a first marriage, the church does require that at least one of the parties must be a Baptized Christian.

Baptism does imply commitment and we consider base commitment to be regular attendance and financial support. If you take your Baptism seriously you will be open to probing discussion about Christian discipleship during pre-marital counseling. If you are not open to this minimal kind of commitment, it may be more appropriate to be married in a secular setting by a justice of the peace.

Thank you for inquiring into Christian Marriage at St. Peter’s.
